art stuff

This is the showcase at the top of the stairs in the art building.
My posters are on display for everyone to see!

This was our first etching print- it was a landscape view...and I rightly named it stumped - because 1) there was a stump in the etching, and 2) I was stumped on what to do and how to do it.

This was our color etching, I like etching way more than woodcut printmaking...which is why those are not on here for people to see, haha. This is one of the first prints that I am actually close to proud of. It's a cityscape view of Rome.

my foot

I sprained my ankle.
I've tried to think of a million things to blame it on:  school, work, weather, etc. - but no such luck.
the pain is no bueno.

blah.

today was bipolar.
good morning- went to class, no problems, happy times... actually had a (small) break to get some lunch...went to my afternoon class, it was alright - drew a lot of skeletons...went to work for about an hour and a 1/2..it was good - went by fast and was chill.

then the day gets even lovelier.

I went home after work and called my mom for a few - and while talking to her I remembered, I had a good amount of homework to do tonight. I wrote everything down that I needed to do:
Read for Bible class- (8am)
Cut mat board- and mat print (due-10am)
Study for Graphic Design 2 exam (12pm)
Read and post questions online for Graphic Design History (1pm)
Read for Art History/ workbook (2pm)
**not homework- work on logo design for internship (3pm)

So I had to go up to the school anyways to bring Lyn some shoes...the mat cutting room was open, I had matboard, so I figured I would do it today instead of before classes tomorrow. First cut - wrong size-way too small. Second cut - wrong proportions -also too small. Third cut -correct size, and no more matboard left. But that was ok because it was the right size- or so I thought. I marked out where the window of the mat needed to go, and then began to cut with the bevel razor. No, I did not have a new razor to put in the mat cutter, and yes I used the blade that was in there. My bad. I didn't even notice when I cut the first part of the window...but as I continued the edges only got worse and worse - along with my anger and frustration. So when the window is all cut out, the edges look like a mouse chewed them for me. How nice. So then I had a fit which included screaming, ripping matboard, and my face turning red. I then gave up. I went home - did the rest of the homework that I could do, and now i am going to bed in my room- that i need to tidy up - it is messy - but i can't force myself to do anything else today.

goodnight.
