London's pretty much awesome..

London is amazing. Sunday we toured the town on the double decker bus. We went to get on the boat but then got right off again - because all 4 of us were feeling sick on it. Monday we had class in the morning and then went to the British Museum, Tuesday we had class and then went to the National Portrait Gallery. Wednesday we went to Bath, and saw where they used to bathe in for the "healing" waters. Then today we had drawing class in the morning then a devo and lunch in the park.

we're in London! we got here about 6:15 am this morning - pulled into the port i mean, then we took a bus, a train, then another bus to get to our "flats" I am in one with 4 other girls - its three stories - the floor you walk in on is a bedroom for two of the girls and a bathroom, the up stairs floor is the room for three that I am in - and another bathroom - then there is a floor below the one you enter on - and its the kitchen and living room. So we can finally fully unpack our stuff and quit living out of a suitcase for a good while. We went to the grocery store today too - and got stuff to make so we don't have to eat out every meal. :) Now we are touring the school facility and of course we all took time to stop and get on the internet - we will have wifi at the flats though so I can put pictures on and etc. I'll write more soon...

***edit***
so while we were in Normandy the 2nd and 3rd day we went to Mont St. Michel

Here's a picture i took from up top of it.

And here are a few of the girls in a stair case

The second day we were there was to do some art - see mom - we really do have homework!

The next day we went to Saint Malo - it would have been cool if it wasn't raining because it had a beach - it was a walled off city - but i didn't take any pictures since it was raining.
I'll update the last few days tomorrow - a little tired right now.

*edit* more updates

The next day - Friday we got up early and packed the bus and stopped at the Dday beaches and the American National Cemetery then Bayeux - where we went and saw the tapestry about William the Conqueror and Harold, the men who led the Norman and Saxon armies in 1066. Then we went to Caen and after a few hours we got on the ferry headed to London.

Yesterday and Today

***i added the pictures!

Yesterday (Thursday)....I went to the National History Museum/Army Museum/Where Napoleon's Tomb is. Jared and I went there in the morning walked all through the Army part and the history part and still hadn't seen Napoleon's Tomb - but we learned it was in the Dome Church which is connected to and part of the museum but you had to know that before you could figure out how to get there. So after a few hours there - I walked from there to a really cool fashion museum, and then walked to the national library where there were really cool fountains and statues. Then I walked from Strasbourg to the nearest metro station i could find (MY FEET HURT) and went to the hotel - I finally did some laundry - and then the professors took about half of the group, the ones that showed up for the meeting anyway - to get ice cream. I have lots of pictures from there - but check back later for them...

Today - We got up early and went to Chartres. We toured the Cathedral and walked through all the bugs outside (there were tons and they were like little lovebugs that just stick to you) and then rode the train back. (About an hour away)

Then we went to a Greek restaurant to have a group dinner and we were the only ones there for a little while but then a big group of people from germany that were really nice showed up. We talked to them and they were soooo funny - and they were singing and dancing - it was a riot! Then they sent us back to the hotel to pack- because we leave for normandy tomorrow!

Ill post pictures on here later!

Where did I leave off?

Sorry I haven't had a chance to update...

Sunday we went to Saint Sulpice in the morning it was a beautiful church and had a HUGE organ - some of the group stayed after to hear the organist play - he was really good. I think that was sort of the reason we went there. :)

We walked around the city for a while...a long while... then we went to an Eglise de Christe...

And after that we went to the Sacre Couer - here's a picture i took of the view from up there....it was a lot of steps to the top - i lost track after about 250.

Monday...
We went and saw the Pompidou Museum

(which is my favorite museum of the three we went to) walked through a really cool fountain thing...

Then me and Jessica walked through the Notre Dame this time instead of just looking at the outside of it. :) It was really pretty... then we took a boat ride around Seine River to the Eiffel Tower and went all the way to the top.

Tuesday -We went to the Musee Orsay which had a lot of academic art and impressionism.....
Then me and Joey went to the Arc de Triumph -

and right before we went up we saw a really cool break dancing thing - which we stayed and watched for a while - those guys were awesome. Then we went up the spiral stairs up inside the Arc de Triumph

(I was dizzy after that) and stayed at the Top for a while..

Then Jared caught up with us and we took a night boat tour of the whole river -
and when we got off at the Eiffel Tower the Lights had just came on and they were sparkling - it was really cool.

Wednesday -
We got up early and went to Versailles and went through the museum, the gardens, and then we saw the Queen's Quarters. We stayed there and sketched for a while and took lots of pictures - those aren't uploaded yet. :)
Then we went to the Louvre at night and took a (half of the) group tour of two or three of the wings really quick. I wanted to go back and take a picture of a statue I saw - but there was a suspicious object so that part was closed. Then we walked down to the Latin quarter and most people went to eat - but a few of us walked around listening to music and just seeing that part of town.

Today I'm hoping to go the the museum of natural history, not that I don't love seeing all this art. :) But I was kind of interested in seeing that so - that's where I plan to go today.

Love you all!

Today I went to Pigalle to see the Moulin Rouge…

You can walk in the front part of it - where the posters are and there is also a souvenir shop that was open when I went - I got a brochure - haha.

After walking around Pigalle – I went to the Louve. IT WAS AWESOME! BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL! Then we went to an underground mall and walked around, and then got a drink at Starbucks. Sorry It's a short post talk to you soon!

Love you all!

Bonsoir!

We got in Thursday at about 8:15am here, and after we dragged our luggage through miles and miles of trains, buses, and metro stations, we had to walk about a mile to our hotel. When we finally got there – which took more than our professors thought it would – almost everyone went to sleep for a few hours – I walked around Makaloff the neighborhood outside Paris that we are staying at…and showered... and then Megan, Angela, and I went to get a bite to eat. Nothing amazing or even French – we had Pizza. Haha. We came back after walking around Chatelé and CRASHED.

Today our whole group went to the Eiffel Tour and had lunch around there – and then we went to the Notre Dame. We walked around a lot of the cities we’ve gone through – and taken the bus/metro/train so many times that I think we are better at it than a lot of the parisans here. :) After that Angela and I ate at Luxembourg and came back to the Hotel. It is still really bright outside and I think it is about 10:30. I will post pictures later – I love you all and will talk to you soon.

Au revoir!

The Eiffel Tower - and me!
